So Jakartans do not worry

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency, Monday (7/20), ensures 11 strategic foodstuffs stocks are safe in Jakarta until the end of Idul Adha.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni said, from the need for 44,000 tons of rice, there were 358,199 tons, 17,388 tons from 3,568 tons of beef, 5,902 tons from 2,512 tons of sugar, 55,634 tons from 4,240 tons of cooking oil and 1,095 tons from 832 tons of garlic.

He expressed its availability would keep increasing in accordance with the business plan of Bulog, BUMD, importers and other food businesses in meeting food needs in Jakarta.

"So Jakartans do not worry," he stressed.

He went on to say that fresh food that could not be stored for a long time such as big red chili, curly red chili, red cayenne pepper, green cayenne pepper, onion and chicken eggs was under controlled.

Especially for sugar, red onion and chicken eggs, they really needed to be intervened through the market operation or the availability of supplies and price stability (OP/KPSH) targeting vendors, thus prices could be immediately lowered.

"We'll soon coordinate with related units such as the Industry and Trade Agency's UKM Cooperative, Bulog and BUMD for its KPSH," he uttered.

His party would even conduct monitoring and testing of its samples in the laboratory to ensure the safety of those foodstuffs.

"We want to ensure them safe from hazardous chemicals," he closed.
